Homeowner Testimonials
There are no words to tell you how thankful and happy to know you people. I have the stove and dryer and all the repairs that were done. The workers were so nice and they loved what they were doing. My mother always said that I would be rich some day, this is what she meant having friends like you people.
To some of the nicest and giving people I've ever met. I thank every one who helped me and fixed my house up to look like it was in Bloomfield Hills. The workers were so kind and nice. I'm enjoying every day. It's pleasant to be my home now.

Rebuilding Together Oakland is the most awesome, terrific thing in the world. They put up a ramp for my daughter who has Cerebral Palsy and it has been such a blessing not have to worry about her or my safety getting her in an out of the house. Gentlemen that constructed the ramp where sweet and kind. Thank you so much for providing this service to my daughter and myself.
Words are inadequate to express appreciation for your gestures of kindness at my home-sweet-home. You all have a heart of gold to labor at no charge, to enhance life for an aged 86 year old lady going blind.
I’ve been praying to God to give me money to get some of the work done. Instead He had a sense of humor and gave me these wonderful people....I would never have been able to do this without all these people. They are doing so much more than I ever could have wanted.
To have this outpouring of love is overwhelming. It’s beyond our wildest dreams.

The day the workmen came was like Christmas to me...they were courteous and friendly and quick...I want to say thank you to everyone for helping me out.
The team from Our Lady of Sorrows went above and beyond anything I could have imagined. The house captains and site coordinator, Bob and Jean McAllister and Tim Nixon helped me with everything from ideas to improve the look and function of my home, down to selecting the paint colors. From someone like myself who is handicapped, their efforts were very much appreciated. They made so many updates and improvements I can't begin to list all of them; I was simply overwhelmed when they left at the end of the day.
This is just a Godsend to me...It's just like having a new house. I'm very, very thankful for what they did to help me...They all did such a good job. It was just fantastic.
I couldn't afford repairs to my home or to possibly do them myself. I reached out to RTOC...they provided me with multiple helping hands to repair my home...keeping my home warm dry!

They are a wonderful group of people, and I think it gives you satisfaction to help someone else who maybe can't help themselves. I like to think that if I were in need, someone would do the same for me, and you find a lot of people are very appreciative of what we do for them.

It's always an awesome sight when 70 people show up to help a community member by giving up their time and effort...It's a great program for us (City of Wixom) in that it not only helps a community member in need, but it continues to draw the community closer and build relationships among residents and city staff.
I got involved when we learned about what the organization was doing. This represents the best of community action. It's neighbors helping neighbors...reminiscent of the barn-raisings of past generations.
It's wonderful to see the community's spirit in tough times like this. If we could organize like this on a regular basis, the city could come back overnight.
