RTOC Testimonials

We take pride in servicing low-income homeowners in Oakland County, and the testimonials we gather from our Homeowners, Volunteers and Community Leaders help paint the picture of our Community Involvement.

If you are a Homeowner that has received assistance from RTOC in the past, or a Community Leader/Volunteer that has provided Community Service Work with RTOC, we ask that you share your experiences with us on our Testimonial Form and help shed light on our cause!

Below are a sample of testimonials we have collected over the years from our Homeowners, Volunteers and Community Leaders...

Homeowner Testimonials

"I’ve been praying to God to give me money to get some of the work done. Instead He had a sense of humor and gave me these wonderful people....I would never have been able to do this without all these people. They are doing so much more than I ever could have wanted."    Gladys Broxie "To have this outpouring of love is overwhelming. It’s beyond our wildest dreams."   Mary Anne Skaja

"The best part of this adventure was the HAPPY FACES on the crew.  They were in smiles all the time and I was so blessed with what they did for me and how they did it so pleasantly.  Thank you so very very much I will never forget you and your teams."  Elizabeth Mattingly

“The day the workmen came was like Christmas to me…They were courteous and friendly and quick…I want to say thank you to everyone for helping me out”. Doris Harmon

"The team from Our Lady of Sorrows went above and beyond anything I could have imagined. The house captains and site coordinator, Bob and Jean McAllister and Tim Nixon helped me with everything from ideas to improve the look and function of my home down to selecting the paint colors. From someone like myself who is handicapped, their efforts were very much appreciated. They made so many updates and improvements I can’t begin to list all of them; I was simply overwhelmed when they left at the end of the day."  Morris Horrie

"This is just a Godsend to me...It's just like having a new house.  I'm very, very thankful for what they did to help me...They all did such a good job.  It was just fantastic."  Joanna Jones

"I couldn't afford repairs to my home or to possibly do them myself. I reached out to RTOC... they provided me with multiple helping hands to repair my home... keeping my home warm and dry!"  Rebecca Corum

Volunteer Testimonials

“They are a wonderful group of people, and I think it gives you satisfaction to help someone else who maybe can’t help themselves. I like to think that if I were in need, someone would do the same for me, and you find a lot of people are very appreciative of what we do for them.”
Gail Hale, Huron Valley Volunteer

“It’s hard work but it’s fun.”
Kristen Gallett, 13 years old from Farmington Hills

“Wonderful feeling of intrinsic reward when we get finished.” Dave Houle, House Captain

"The best part is the end of the day when you see how much you can accomplish in one day. I just want to say thanks to all our volunteers and donors. It is a wonderful day." Teri Colman, Area Commander

"Them coming to help me and my family was a pretty big deal. They did so much for us, and I came here to help my neighbors and give back to Rebuilding Together." Tim Fazzini, 17 years old, Volunteer and past Rebuild Day recipient

Community Leader Testimonials

"It’s always an awesome sight when 70 people show up to help a community member by giving up their time and effort…It’s a great program for us [the City of Wixom] in that it not only helps a community member in need, but it continues to draw the community closer and build relationships among residents and city staff."   Tony Nowicki, Assistant Wixom City Manager

"I got involved when we learned about what [the organization] was doing. This represents the best of community action. It’s neighbors helping neighbors…reminiscent of the barn-raisings of past generations."   U.S Representative Gary Peters (D-9th District)

"It’s wonderful to see the community’s spirit in tough times like this. If we could organize like this on a regular basis, the city could come back overnight."     Leon Jukowski, Mayor of Pontiac
